Grants are awarded based on:
- Alignment with LINC’s mission/vision/values/purpose
- Community Development: The scope and severity of the issue or need to be addressed.
- Target Population: Who and how many will be served? Are those being served in the metro area of Minneapolis or St. Paul?
- Use of Proven or Best Practices: The extent to which the project/program is based on approaches that have been shown to be effective in other settings.
- Project/Program Activities and Outcomes: Identified specific activities that will be provided and the expected short and long-term outcomes.
- Project/Program Evaluation: Plans for tracking and measuring the effectiveness of the project/program
- Utilization of volunteers to accomplish the mission
Process:
1. Grant Requests in the Amount of $500 or Less
» Grant requests may be submitted at any time during the year. Decision on a grant will be given within 30 days of the form’s receipt. Maximum length for these grants is 1 year.

2. Grant Requests in the Amount Greater Than $500
» Grant requests are due on the 1st day of February, May, August, and November. Upon receipt, a site visit will be scheduled. A decision will be given following the next LINC Board of Directors meeting. Maximum length for these grants is 2 years.

3. The organization submitting the grant should retain a copy of all items for their records.
- In submitting the grant request to LINC-Twin Cities, the organization is agreeing to provide every 6 months a narrative update on the plan and photos of their project.
